Our Children's building is starting to feel like the building it will become--with walls and windows, ramp and stairs and the concrete floor poured out farther into the "rounded" area of the building. Things are going up quickly now!
Exciting progress has occurred on our new Children's Building. The expanse of the building and infrastructure is making it feel very real. Children's Ministries are announcing registrations soon for classes to be held in this wonderful new facility come Fall 2009.
After surveying and marking the area earlier this week, workers began digging, moving, dumping, spreading and compressing dirt to lay the necessary "groundwork" for building our Children's Building at First United Methodist Church of Niceville. It's a little noisy but very exciting. Check back for further brief video clips of weekly progress!
Amazing daily progress is visible as the walls are layered higher and higher by masonry workers, with window areas enclosed in some areas. The "rounded" part of the building is more visible, and the stairs are now concrete. Be sure to check often online and on site, as progress is developing at a quick rate visibly now.
Immediately following the Consecration Service in the Sanctuary, the Niceville-Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce provided the special ribbon and tools for the official opening of the Children's Building. Check back soon for a photo gallery of the entire event, which included "Kidz Blitz! Live" and tours of the building.
As part of our Advent Missions Projects this year at First United Methodist Church of Niceville, this video was shown to describe the opportunity to support a project to orphans and women. It features Isaiah Chot from the Congo.
