When Frazer was preparing to start construction of the new Wesley Hall that now houses the Contemporary Worship, parking was a big factor. Fact is, we still had the same amount of people, and a lot less parking. This spot was put together to make sure that everyone knew where the overflow parking was and how important it was to leave the closer spots to the church open for visitors.
This video was created to encourage regular attenders to park in the farther-away spots in order to allow new visitors to find parking places closer to the buildings. (Created prior to Easter services at First United Methodist Church of Niceville).
After surveying and marking the area earlier this week, workers began digging, moving, dumping, spreading and compressing dirt to lay the necessary "groundwork" for building our Children's Building at First United Methodist Church of Niceville. It's a little noisy but very exciting. Check back for further brief video clips of weekly progress!
Our Children's building is starting to feel like the building it will become--with walls and windows, ramp and stairs and the concrete floor poured out farther into the "rounded" area of the building. Things are going up quickly now!
Amazing daily progress is visible as the walls are layered higher and higher by masonry workers, with window areas enclosed in some areas. The "rounded" part of the building is more visible, and the stairs are now concrete. Be sure to check often online and on site, as progress is developing at a quick rate visibly now.
Steel beams were delivered today to the construction site of First United Methodist Church of Niceville, with the assistance of more "unusual-looking" equipment! The building should really start gaining height and structure soon.
Exciting progress has occurred on our new Children's Building. The expanse of the building and infrastructure is making it feel very real. Children's Ministries are announcing registrations soon for classes to be held in this wonderful new facility come Fall 2009.
